G Johnson A walk from the Tunnel Top, N up the lane above the tunnel to Preston –on-the-Hill. Then, through Lewis Carroll country, along lanes passing the moated New Manor Farm, and leading through wet fields and muddy tracks beyonf Brook Lodge to join the Delamere Way, down to the canal and back to the Tunnel Top..

GW Scott From the Red Lion, Winsford along Whitegate Way, on to Bradford Mill, over the Weaver at Newbridge then via smokeHall Lane and the Weaver Park to Winsford. Walkers received commentary on the salt trade & the operations of the salt Mine along the way. Excellent lunch

J Adshead Astbury Mere Country Park to Lambert Lane & along the Macclesfield Canal & across fields to Astbury Village. . We travelled by car to the Heath Farm pub on Padgbury Lane for a " value for money " lunch which was "washed down" with drinks of choice incuding pints of Timothy Taylor "Landlord"

Bright at first, then overcast with short shower, clearing later 5C. OK along the tracks but parts of the towpath & across fields was verywet & muddy.

J Feltham Start @ the Leigh Arms along the Weaver to Saltersford Locks, back along the Trent and Mersey canal via Little Leigh.

G Johnson Up Daresbury Lane to Hall lane & Outer Wood, through Row’s Wood, towards Hatton, but cut across to Goose Lane.On to Walton Hall GC,& Bridgewater Canal. Along canal via Moore toward Daresbury Lab to reach the Ring o’ Bells for lunch.

R Miller From Tattenhall through the fields and round Bolesworth Castle, with clear views of Welsh hills, Then back to the Sportsman's Arms for lunch.

G Johnson From Churton heading through woods and fields towards Aldford, drop down to the R Dee. Walk downstream to the iron bridge beyond Aldford then back through the village and returning to Churton and the White Horse for lunch.

N Lamping From the Riverside Inn we meandered around Acton Bridge, the R Weaver and Crowton.

R Freeman From the Traveller's Rest, Nr Frodsham, down qiet lanes and fields to near the R Weaver. The 2 woods we went through were great, with bluebells and wild garlic.

W Notman From Redesmere, through Siddington then along lanes and across fields in a wide circle to reach the A34 opposite Capesthorne Hall, back to start by east side of Redesmere. Excellent lunch at the Crown in Goostrey.

G Scott Start at Broken Cross along Trent Mersey Canal, many canal boats going home after the Middlewich Folk & Boat weekend, NB Megan dog estimated to have done ca 12-13 miles.Views of the Dane Valley before lunch at The Big Lock

R Miller Started from the Stamford Bridge, over fields and byways and many stiles. Hard going in terrific heat and lots of argument about World Cup, tennis and life in general. Roy now seems to have the trophy for most recent longest walk in terms of time - 3h 50min

J Adshead From Styal village through shady glades in the R Bollin valley, some potentially coronary inducing climbs before entering flatter pathways. Occasional jet roar from nearby Manchester Airport before leaving the Bollin by the Airport Inn, then across open fields & past Quarry Bank Mill to the Ship in the village centre.

R Freeman Steep climb from the Traveller's Rest, Frodsham over the hill to Crossley Sanatorium return over fields. The 'Rest' was closed so down to the Horseshoe Inn, Kingsley for a good lunch and pint

J Chrimes From the Plough across fields to join the Whitegate Way. Along the Way to Catsclough and then cross country to the Weaver at Newbridge. Along the towpath to Vale Royal Locks.We continued through the golf course to Whitegate Village. From there across further fields to return to the Plough where we enjoyed lunch

W Montgomery From the Shroppie Fly at Audlem, over fields and lanes to meet the Shropshire Union Canal just south of the staircase locks and dropping down into Adlem. Excellent lunch

G Johnson Start at Over Peover, passing Peover Hall, and through Spinney Wood, before heading towards Jodrell Bank. Finally turning North through the fields and country lanes to the Parkgate Inn for luinch.

J Adshead From Acton across the fields, past Madam’s Farm to join and follow the Llangollen Canal to the Hurleston Junction with the Shropshire Union Canal, and along to Acton Bridge, which led back to the Star for lunch.

G Johnson From the Goshawk in Mouldsworth for a trot round bits of Delamere Forest and the Sandstone trail before the walkers Christmas lunch which was a jolly occasion with our distance challenged friends the Short Walkers
